PLANS to replace the windows at a listed building in the Carlisle area have been submitted to Cumberland Council.
The application is St Anns House in Etterby Scaur and, according to a planning statement, it is a Category 2 Listed building located on the western boundary of the Stanwix Conservation Area.
It states: "The building is constructed of stone walling with painted render finish incorporating stone quoins and window features.
"The main roofs incorporate two ridge chimney stacks. Roofs are covered in natural slate and capped with stones ridges.
"The majority of windows are a combination of 1 over 1 and 6 over 6 painted timber sliding sash units with single glazing.
"Other examples include one window with an eight over eight pattern and two windows with a three over three patterns.
"It is evident that some glass has been replaced and this is proven by the presence of British Standard markings.
"The entrance door to the porch has had previous repairs carried out however the repairs have failed resulting in the timber threshold becoming rotten and moisture migrating into the bottom panelling."
The application is being considered by council planning officers.
