A GROUP of students and school staff will be taking on a 35-mile cycling challenge.

Pupils at St Bees School taking part in a charity bike ride from Silloth to St Bees along Hadrian's Cycle Way on Saturday, June 29.

The event aims to raise funds for Team Evie, the school’s chosen charity for the 2023/24 academic year.

The ride will take the students and staff through the scenic Cumbrian landscape, combining the physical challenge to support children with serious health conditions and their families.

The charity, Team Evie, says they are dedicated to improving the lives of these children, providing essential resources and support.

Headmaster, Mr Andrew Keep, expressed pride in the participants, he said: "Our students and staff have shown remarkable dedication to this cause.

“Their commitment not only highlights their physical endurance but also their willingness to positively impact the community."

St Bees School says the bike ride is a 'testament to the school’s values of perseverance, teamwork, and community service.'

The school explained that 'it provides an excellent opportunity for students and staff to bond, promote a healthy lifestyle, and contribute to a worthy cause.'

The school has set up a JustGiving page to facilitate donations and sponsorships.
