A DRUG-DRIVER caught over the limit for a cocaine derivative on Christmas Eve has been banned from the roads for more than three years.
Kai Nolan, 36, was driving a Vauxhall Corsa on North Road in Egremont when the offence took place on December 24 last year.
A blood sample showed he had 243mcg of Benzoylecgonine per litre of blood. The specified limit is 50mcg.
Nolan pleaded guilty to driving a motor vehicle with a proportion of a specified controlled drug above the limit when he appeared before Workington Magistrates’ Court on Friday.
The defendant, of Sherwen Terrace, Egremont, was banned from driving for 40 months. He was fined £120 and ordered to pay £85 costs.
