AS we gear up for a summer of sport, many of us will be watching the action in pubs across the county.

We've put together a list of the best independent pubs for a pint in and around Carlisle, according to the Neverspoons app.

The app was developed and released after the Covid pandemic occurred.

Due to the struggling economy caused by the pandemic outbreak, many people wanted to offer support to local and independent businesses.

The name is a pun on Wetherspoons, the pub chain giant with establishments across the UK.

The app offered people an alternative to visiting chain establishments and instead gave their custom to smaller, independent, pubs and bars.

This list shows some of the top picks on the Neverspoons app for people in Carlisle to visit.

Let us know in the comments if you know of any boozers or clubs that you'd like to see on the list.
