A MAN has been arrested for attempted burglary in Whitehaven.
The man had been attempting to enter properties on Scotch Street, directly opposite the police station.
Officers quickly noticed his actions and he was detained for attempted burglary.
In a post on social media, Cumbria Police wrote: "A male has been arrested in Whitehaven after NPT Officers PC 2503 Pickering-Smith and PC 2857 Mackintosh, who were upstairs in the Police station observed a male walking along Scotch Street trying door handles and attempting to enter one property.
"Officers ran out of the station and swiftly detained the male who was then arrested for attempted burglary."
