A DRUG-DRIVER caught on the A595 has been banned from getting behind the wheel for 18 months.
Carl Cleaver, 45, was driving a BMW on the A595 at Winscales Road on December 10 last year.
An evidential sample of blood showed he had 3mcg of Delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol (cannabis) per litre litre of blood. The specified limit is 2mcg.
Cleaver, of The Oaks, Egremont, pleaded guilty to driving a motor vehicle with a proportion of a specified drug above the limit.
Magistrates sitting in Workington imposed an 18-month driving disqualification and a 12-month community order with a three-month drug rehabilitation requirement.
He was fined £120 and ordered to pay £85 costs and a £114 victim surcharge.
