Mountain rescuers were called out to help a man who injured his ankle while on England’s highest mountain.
Wasdale Mountain Rescue Team (WMRT) were called by Cumbria police at 2.13pm on June 19 regarding a walker who had repeatedly stumbled over his ankle.
He became injured and was unable to continue his walk, so a full callout was made to Brown Tongue on Scafell Pike during which team members assessed the injury.
The walker tried to keep going with help from the team but after a while was transferred to a stretcher to complete the descent to the valley floor.
The callout involved 17 mountain rescuers and lasted four hours and two minutes.
