A PHONE was returned to its rightful owner ‘in true Cinderella fashion’ yesterday (June 27) by ‘two unknown knights in shining armour’.

Copeland Police said last night that a mobile phone was handed in by members of the public at Whitehaven Police Station, with the only identifying mark being a Disney princess sticker on the back of the case.

A police spokesperson said: “Before a post could be put out on social media to advertise that this phone had been handed in, the owner was identified and the lady and her phone reunited.

“In true Cinderella fashion, the owner was able to prove that the phone was hers, albeit with a fingerprint on the screen instead of a foot in a glass slipper.

“The two gentlemen who handed the phone in stated that they did not need any thanks, and so they remained two unknown knights in shining armour.

“If you are reading this, the owner of the phone would like to pass on her thanks.”
