Cumberland Council have confirmed that an official launch event for the newly developed tennis courts in Bitts Park will be held in late July.
The refurbished courts were made available for booking recently, ahead of this summer's Wimbledon tournament.
You can do so online, paying £6 per hour, or £45 for an annual pass.
A Cumberland Council spokesperson said: "Eight tennis courts in Bitts Park, Carlisle have undergone a massive transformation following support from Cumberland Council, LTA (Lawn Tennis Association), GLL and Cumbria Lawn Tennis Association.
"Works have included resurfacing, new nets, a new gate system and the overlay of four ‘mini’ tennis courts. A full repainting of the courts has also been completed.
"The courts are available for bookings and a launch event is planned in late July."
