A POPULAR children’s carnival and scarecrow competition will take place next week.

Flimby Carnival will get underway on Saturday, July 6, and a scarecrow competition will run next week, with judging taking place on Wednesday, July 3.

Judging for the carnival will be at 1pm outside Flimby School. The parade will travel from the school to Ryehill Road, on to St Helen’s and up to St Nicholas then on to Wedgwood Road and down West Lane to the rugby field.

A road closure will be in place for the parade and residents are asked to avoid parking on the parade route, where possible.

There will be live entertainment on the field from 2pm, along with a laser maze, inflatable assault course, facepainting, a bar, fair and stalls.

Entries to the scarecrow competition with ‘whatever makes you smile’ can be made to flimbycarnival14@hotmail.com.
