A Brampton business has joined a local charity's new scheme - 'Club 24'.

Brampton-based WCF has become the latest business to join Eden Valley Hospice and Jigsaw, Cumbria’s Children’s Hospice's new 'Club 24' scheme.

Businesses that have become part of this new scheme have pledged to donate funds equal to the amount it would cost the hospice to provide care to a patient for 24 hours.

At Eden Valley Hospice and Jigsaw, 24 hours of round-the-clock care for a patient costs £877, or £73 a month, with WCF pledging this amount to support the charities.

After pledging support to Eden Valley Hospice and Jigsaw Jo Ritzema, managing Director of WCF expressed her delight at being able to back 'Club 24'

She said: "As a business very much rooted in Cumbria, we make it a priority to support organisations such as Eden Valley Hospice and Jigsaw which make a huge difference to our communities.

“The Club 24 initiative is a brilliant way for businesses to support the work they do, and ensure that people across Cumbria continue to receive the vital services they provide to patients and their families.”

Martha Pardoe, relationship fundraiser with Eden Valley Hospice and Jigsaw also thanked the Brampton business for its support and encouraged more local businesses to join 'Club 24'

She said: “We are so grateful for WCF’s ongoing support, most recently in being one of the first members of Club 24.

"Joining Club 24 is a valuable way for a business to make a real difference in a local family’s life by donating the cost of 24 hours for a patient at the hospice.

"Whilst a small amount of time for many of us, 24 hours truly means everything to those who we care for."
