A MEMORY Cafe was held in Whitehaven this week.

The initiative was introduced by the Copeland Age and Advice Service CIC and is held at Whitehaven RUFC.

In a post on social media, they wrote: "At this week’s Memory Cafe we were joined by care coordinators from Lowther Medical Centre to offer advice and support to clients.

"There were also lots of games and reminiscence activities to keep everyone entertained.

"Thanks as always to our wonderful volunteers and Whitehaven RUFC who make it possible."

The cafe runs every 2 weeks 11am -12.30pm and is also attended by the NHS Memory Matters Team for advice and support to carers.

The cafes offer a social space for elderly people who are having trouble with their memory.

Coffee and cake are served and the older people are given a chance to chat with volunteers and attendees.

If you are interested in attending or would like further information, please call the office on 01946 552166.
