A survey for Cumbria’s LGBT community has been launched to determine needs and gaps in current services.
It’s organised by LGBT youth charity Pride in North Cumbria (PiNC), based in Carlisle, which hopes the Big Cumbrian LGBTQI+ Survey will get said people to share their experiences and ensure their voices are heard.
The last major survey by PiNC was done in 2011, and 13 years later they hope to find out the needs of various services and identify areas which require more funding or development.
A spokesperson from PiNC said the survey will identify challenges facing LGBT individuals in areas like healthcare, education, employment, and social services.
The findings will be used to find ways to overcome challenges and discrimination, and advocate for increased support and inclusion for the LGBT community in Cumbria, they said.
They added that the input of all LGBT people in the county ‘will have a major impact on the development of future services’.
To participate in the survey, which PiNC said will take about 10 minutes to complete with responses remaining completely anonymous and confidential, click here.
