TWO uninjured walkers got stuck on Wastwater's Screes after their dog refused to move further.
Cumbria Police alerted the Wasdale Mountain Rescue Team to the situation on June 22.
The response plan involving a boat deployment was changed when helpful bystanders transferred the walkers and dog across the lake.
By 4.38pm, safety was confirmed and the team stood down.
A spokesperson from Wasdale MRT said: "Our thanks go to those who assisted."
