Officers from Carlisle Police's Special Constabulary have over the past week been out in the pubs and clubs of Carlisle delivering posters and engaging with bar and door staff around the Ask For Angela campaign supported by Cumbria Police.
All premises across Botchergate have now all agreed to continue to support the campaign aimed at reducing violence against women and girls and wider vulnerabilities in our communities.
Ask for Angela gives the ability for anyone who feels like they are uncomfortable in a situation be that a first date, escaping a relationship or simply feeling unsafe to ask any member of staff for Angela, this will then allow staff to help you out of the situation either discreetly or with support of Police or Safer Streets officers.
Remember if you're in trouble, Ask for Angela.
Neighbourhood Officers supported by members of our Safer Streets team will continue to be a visible presence every Saturday night over the summer supporting revellers.
