LAST orders have been called at a popular village pub whilst it seeks prospective tenants.

The Queen Inn, located on The Green, Great Corby ceased trading on Sunday evening (June 30).

Previously run under a leasehold by business partners David and Roweena Corkill since 2019, the lease was due to end in late 2024.

The pub's management points to "relentless pressures and challenges of the hospitality industry" as the reason for the early closure.

In a post on social media, they said: "We are deeply grateful to all the wonderful people who visited us over the years and to the incredible staff who made The Queen Inn a warm and welcoming place.

"We would also like to thank all our patrons who have supported us over the last five years.

"We have taken the commercial decision to cease trading due to both personal reasons and a currently inclement economic trading climate in the hospitality industry.

"Thank you for the memories and all the good times—there are too many to list," they said.

Corby Castle Estate has begun looking for prospective tenants to take up a new lease.
