FANS of pints and pub grub are urged to nominate their favourite pub for the News & Star's 'Best Pub 2024' award.
Online nominations for the award will close at midnight on Sunday, July 14, and ahead of this deadline, Cumbrian pub lovers are urged to get behind their favourite.

Following this stage of online nominations, News & Star readers will then be able to vote for their 'Best Pub 2024' from a selection of ten finalists by picking up editions of the News & Star between Monday, July 22, and Saturday, August 3, with the winner set to be announced on Monday, August 12.

The competition aims to celebrate local pubs in North and West Cumbria and speaking after its launch, Joy Yates, regional editor for Newsquest Cumbria asked readers to support their favourite pub
She said: "Pubs and bars are an important part of our society.
"They are so many things to so many people.
"It’s where we go to meet friends and family; enjoy quiz nights and experience great food. We all have our locals and go-to haunts.

"It could be because they are steeped in history or are new to the bar scene.
"Now you have the chance to nominate your favourite and give the team the recognition they deserve."
