An adrenaline junkie from Workington is continuing to live life to the fullest, 30 years on from a lifesaving heart transplant.
John Mossom, needed a heart transplant in 1994 due to side effects from the chemotherapy he underwent during his childhood in the 80s.
John has worked at Tesco in Workington for the past 15 years, something he is 'very grateful for'.
He said: "After two years of radiotherapy and chemotherapy as a child, my heart managed to last an amazing 12 years before giving up. Thanks to the amazing gift from my donor, the help and work of the Freeman Heart & Lung Transplant Association, and the wonderful staff of the Freeman Hospital, I'm fit and well, and celebrating 30 years on July 19."
Now, to mark the 30th anniversary, John is aiming to raise £1,000 for the Freeman Heart & Lung Transplant Association, and has already brought in more than £200 via his fundraiser.
