Police have arrested a man on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm following an incident in Distington on July 1
Officers were called to Midtown Close after being made aware that a man in the street had suffered a head injury.
He was taken to the West Cumberland Hospital for treatment and later discharged.
A man, 42, was arrested in connection with the incident last night. He remains in custody.

Officers are appealing for information on 101.
A cordon was in place in part of Distington last night while enquiries were carried out. Officers thank the public for their patience during this time.
