THE Brampton and Longtown District Nursing Team have received a donation.

The Brampton League of Friends has donated funds to buy new equipment for the Brampton and Longtown District Nurse Team.

The funding has been used to purchase a bladder scanner.

Rebecca Simpson said: “This will help us care for patients in their own homes to improve their care with catheters across the Longtown and Brampton area.

“Now that we have this additional bladder scanner, it will save vital time travelling across the large geographical area. It means we can now have a machine at each, of the two bases in Brampton and Longtown which will benefit the patients.”

David Moorat, chairman of Brampton Friends, added: "The Brampton Hospital and Community League of Friends is very pleased to be able to provide funds for projects which will help to make life more comfortable for patients either whilst in hospital or at home.

"District nurses approached our League and explained that a bladder scanner would help them to care for patients at home and could prevent admissions to hospital. It is encouraging to see that the scanner has arrived and has already been put to use."
