THE International Cheese and Dairy Awards have once again proved successful for First Milk, winning six major trophies at the event.
Held annually at Bingley Hall, Staffordshire, the internationally recognised awards attract over 3,500 entries with some of the most highly contested categories receiving up to 40 entries. Despite the stiff competition, First Milk has had continued success at the show and this year was no exception.
The successful dairy co-operative, owners of the Lake District Creamery at Aspatria, received a total of 23 category awards, including seven gold medals, nine silver medals, and seven bronze medals.
“We are extremely proud of our success. Our performance recognises the dedication of our farmers to produce top-quality milk and the hard work of our creamery staff who make exceptional cheese,” said Dawn Mason, Product Technical Manager based at First Milk’s Lake District Creamery in Aspatria.
“Each year we build on our previous achievements,” said Jack Eade, First Milk’s Customer Quality Manager.
