THE RSPCA in West Cumbria is looking for people to take dogs into their homes.
The opportunity allows people to foster a dog for a while before it finds its forever home.
The RSPCA unit in the area has said that they have had a large influx of dogs into their centre.
In a post on social media, RSPCA Cumbria West wrote: "We're in urgent need of experienced people willing and able to open their hearts and homes to dogs in need, for a wee while.
"We've had an influx of smaller doggos, in particular, there's one older gentleman with an eye condition who really would benefit from chilling in a home environment, rather than in a kennel.
"We cover costs, but you'll need to be able to get to and from the vets if any treatments are needed.
"Fostering is amazing. Join our family, you (probably) won't regret it."
