Local police officers have visited a West Cumbrian primary school to discuss issues facing children crossing the road safely.

NPT Sergeant 2129 Niel Mickinell and PCSO 5299 Pete Nichol along with Councillor Kevin Thurlow attended Richmond Hill School Aspatria and met with John the Crossing safety Officer and staff from the school regarding looking at the issues John faces getting the children and families across the road safely.

The group had a meeting on the best steps forward to help make crossing the road a safer experience.

PCSO Pete Nichol also went to Richmond Hill School to visit the mini police to give out the certificates for all of their hard work.

Alongside the certificate presentation, PCSO Nichol showed the rest of year five round a police van.
