Lanercost C of E Primary School has received an 'Outstanding' rating in their latest Ofsted inspection.
The inspection, which took place last month, saw the school excel in all areas, including quality of education, behaviour and attitudes, personal development, and leadership and management.
Headteacher Lexi Wilkinson expressed her pride and appreciation for the collective efforts of the school staff.
She said: "This achievement is thanks to our teachers, support staff, children, and parents.
"Everyone has played a crucial role in creating a nurturing and stimulating environment for our children."
Chair of governors Julie Hogg also lauded the collective achievement.
She said: ‘On behalf of the governing board, we would like to congratulate the staff, children and community on this 'Outstanding' result.
"Lanercost has always been an outstanding school for my family and I am so pleased that the Ofsted inspection was able to see that.’
The Ofsted report picked out some real strengths at Lanercost C of E Primary School.
The report noted: "Staff are positive role models.
"They foster pupils’ love of reading remarkably well."
Another commendation was reserved for the school's ambitious curriculum.
According to the report: "The curriculum is highly ambitious.
"It enables pupils, including those with SEND, to shine in each subject."
The engaging approach of staff towards delivering the curriculum also came under praise.
Inspectors noted: "Staff deliver the curriculum in a way that ignites pupils’ curiosity and builds a thirst for learning."
Furthermore, the high-quality resources and training for teachers at Lanercost C of E Primary have helped delivered results: "The school provides teachers with resources of exceptional quality.
"Staff spoke of the high-quality training that they receive."
The school's meticulous teaching approach and wider offer for developing talents also won applause in the report.
It said: "The school carefully checks that staff deliver the curriculum well.
"As a result, pupils excel academically and are well prepared for their next stage of education"
The school's leadership, including staff and governors, was highly praised.
The report noted: "Staff and governors are incredibly proud to be a part of this inspirational school."
Looking to the future, headteacher Lexi Wilkinson reaffirmed the school's commitment to quality.
She said: "We will continue to strive for excellence in all areas and ensure that Lanercost C of E Primary remains a place where every child can thrive and reach their full potential."
This prestigious recognition is expected to elevate the school's reputation further and attract new families to the area.
