A Carlisle estate is set to host a performance of the famous Shakespeare play A Midsummer Night's Dream this month.
The HandleBards will perform at Castletown House and Gardens on July 23 for a hilarious, high-octane production of Shakespeare’s famous comedy play.
Four young lovers find themselves lost in a magical forest, where the Fairy King and Queen are fighting for the possession of a changeling boy.
A group of amateur actors head to the same forest to rehearse for a play. Humans and fairies collide and hilarity ensues.
The performance has been dubbed 'gloriously eccentric and very funny' by The Stage.
This is an outdoor production, so attendees are urged to bring their own chair or blanket to sit on, a picnic to dig into, and to dress for the weather!
Doors open at 5.30pm, with the play set to run from 6.30pm until 8.30pm.
Standard tickets cost £19.50, or £12.50 for under 21s. Children under five go free.
