The canon of Carlisle Cathedral, is set to leave his role.
Michael Manley has been appointed to a new role as Vicar of St Thomas, in St Anne’s on Sea, Lancashire, Michael will provide strategic leadership to develop the mission and ministry of the parish.
Michael said: “I've really enjoyed my time at the Cathedral and remain grateful for all the love and care of my colleagues, the staff and people here, in the city and across the county.
"The call to move to St Thomas came as a surprise but I feel confident that it is where God now wants me to be. I will look back on my time here with enormous thankfulness."
Michael’s final service at Carlisle Cathedral will take place on Sunday 29 September. The Bishop of Blackburn will institute and the Archdeacon of Lancaster with induct Michael on Sunday 27 October 2024 at 3pm at St Thomas.
