Some of the best designers and makers from the North of England will take over a historic venue for a month-long exhibition.

The Craftsmen at the Priory’s exhibition and sale has taken place at Dacre Hall near Brampton since 1978, and this year will run from July 31 and August 27, bringing together work from a range of artists and makers.

Fifteen individuals will have their work displayed and sold during this time, including paintings, rugs, jewellery, and ceramics.

“The Dacre Hall is an amazing venue with its vaulted wooden ceiling, huge fireplace and gorgeous gothic windows,” says Tricia Meynell of Castle Carrock, a fine art and abstract photographer and a member of the organising team.

“As always, we’ve a core team of artists and craftspeople organising the event and we’ll be joined this year by nine guests, all but one based in Cumbria, Northumberland or County Durham and each one exhibiting with us for the first time.”
