A MAN will be sentenced next month for assaulting two people and causing damage to three vehicles in Cleator Moor.
Ian Knight, 37, pleaded guilty to three charges of criminal damage and two charges of assault by beating when he appeared before Workington Magistrates’ Court on Monday.
The offences took place on April 20 in Cleator Moor. Knight assaulted two males and caused damage to two Volkswagen Tiguan vehicles and a Volkswagen Polo.
A probation officer told the court the defendant had some mental health issues on top of alcohol use. Alcohol had been a ‘significant factor’ in the committal of the offences, the court heard.
The case was adjourned to allow a pre-sentence report to be prepared by the probation service. Knight, care of Clintz Road, Egremont, will be sentenced on August 2.
