COPELAND's motorists will have two road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

But drivers will be able to take some solace in the fact that both of them are only expected to cause slight delays, of less than ten minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that one closure already in place is expected to carry on this week:

• A595, from 9am July 5 to 4pm July 9, slight delays (under ten minutes): A595 eastbound and westbound, Calderbridge to Blackbeck roundabout, traffic signals for communications works.

And one more closure will begin over the next two weeks:

• A595, from 9.30am July 9 to 2.30pm July 10, slight delays (under ten minutes): A595 northbound, loop road north, traffic signals for BT works.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
