The Quaker Tapestry is a modern masterpiece stitched by 4,000 men, women and children around the world over 15 years. 
Delight in the detail of the stunning needlework and craftsmanship involved in the creation of these vibrant embroidered panels at Quaker Tapestry Museum.
Children and families can take part in quizzes, games and craft activities.
Our dedicated children’s area is a space for families to play, read and have fun.
Children go free in the museum and adults can use their tickets as many times as they like over a year, so if you don’t get to see everything first time round you can come back again for free!
It represents an amazing chronicle of 350 years of people and events, the story of the Quakers and how they influenced the world, from scientific and industrial revolutions to social reform, peace and the abolition of slavery.

A visit England ‘Hidden Gem’ award winner, this unique museum is tucked away in Kendal’s beautiful Grade II listed Meeting House - one of the finest Georgian buildings in Cumbria.
With interactive displays, films, audio guides (for adults and children), embroidery demonstrations and children’s activities including quizzes, games and crafts there’s something for all. 
We have an extensive range of toys, books, souvenirs, gifts and exclusive craft kits in our museum shop (also available online) and you can take a break in our lawned walled garden or café.
Parking is available at the museum, or nearby, and if you are travelling by public transport, we are close to Kendal’s bus and train stations.
