MAGISTRATES in Carlisle have banned a man who faces a robbery allegation from all Asda stores and the city’s St Nicholas Gate Retail Park.
The bail conditions were imposed on 24-year-old Ross Blacklock at the city’s Rickergate court after he appeared charged with sis alleged offences, including an actual bodily harm assault on an Asda worker.
The defendant, of Durranhill Road, Carlisle, has been charged with the following six offences:
* An actual bodily harm assault on a store security worker.
* Causing criminal damage to the alleged assault victim’s spectacles.
* Robbery of a staff member at the same Asda store, allegedly stealing items worth just over £23.
* And three counts of assaulting emergency workers, all them police officers.
During a brief hearing, prosecutor George Shelley told the court that the allegations relate to alleged events at the St Nicholas Gate retail park Asda on July 8 after staff there were said to have challenged the defendant.
Defence lawyer suggested that the defendant would deny being guilty of the alleged Asda offences on the basis that it was not him.
Granting the defendant bail, magistrates imposed various conditions, including the ban from all Asda stores and the retail park. Blacklock must report to the city’s police station on a daily basis with a specified time frame.
The case was sent to Carlisle Crown Court for an initial hearing on August 9.
