A BUSY street in Carlisle was packed full of England supporters last night as the Lions secured their slot in the finals of the Euros 2024 tournament.
Botchergate was rammed with fans piling out into the middle of the street last night after England beat the Netherlands 2-1 thanks to a late goal by Ollie Watkins.
An early goal from the Netherlands’ Xavi Simons was swiftly equalised by a penalty by England’s Harry Kane.
It was looking as if it may head to extra time - and maybe even the dreaded penalties - until Ollie Watkins knocked one back at the 90th minute.
After what has been a nervous few matches with England, with many seeing last-minute goals or penalties, Southgate’s Lions will be playing against a formidable Spain this Sunday.
