A man was arrested on suspicion of false imprisonment and possession of an offensive weapon yesterday morning.
Police were called to a premises on Castle Street in Carlisle shortly before 10am on July 10 following a reported disturbance and a man allegedly in possession of a weapon.
Authorised taser officers were deployed to the scene.
One officer aimed their taser but it was not discharged.
Police said a man in his 50s was arrested on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon, false imprisonment, and threats with a bladed article.
He has been released on bail while enquiries continue.
