A CUMBRIAN man who has followed England throughout their Euro 2024 campaign in Germany will attend the final on Sunday, having spent an 'unbelievable few weeks' cheering on the Three Lions in the major tournament.
Ryan Dodgson, from Workington has been in Germany throughout Euro 2024, attending games in many major German cities throughout England's campaign.
He is one of the lucky fans who have managed to secure a ticket for the final and says he 'cannot wait' to take his seat in the Olympiastadion, Berlin on Sunday, July 14 for the big game.
Speaking about his last few weeks, Ryan said: "The last few weeks have been unbelievable. The England fans have been out in full force taking over German cities from 10am in the morning until early hours of the morning on match days and the day prior to the match.
"There's been tremendous support from the England fans from game one, definitely the best and loudest fans in the country."
Ryan was in Dortmund on Wednesday, July 10 when England beat the Netherlands in an epic semi-final, with the Northern Competitions owner saying he has never felt an atmosphere like it in his life.
He said: "Being in Dortmund for the semi-final versus the Netherlands was something I'll never forget. The atmosphere again was unreal, the city was absolutely rammed with English and the Dutch.
"I managed to get a ticket in the England fans' first section, and when Watkins scored the win the whole place went crazy... apart from the Dutch end obviously.
"We were singing and chanting England songs from start to finish. The atmosphere was electric, I've never experienced or felt anything like it in my whole life."
Ryan has followed the team right across Germany attending the games and meeting fellow Cumbrians along the way. His epic journey throughout the Euros will end at the final on Sunday, with the Raffle King managing to secure himself a much sought-after ticket for the match.
He said: “I've managed to secure a ticket for the final and again I'll be sat in the England fans' first section which I'm delighted about.
"I'm in Berlin at the moment and it's pretty quiet but come Friday, Saturday and Sunday the city will be bouncing, I cannot wait.
"It’s coming home!”
