A WOMAN tested positive for cannabis after being stopped driving a vehicle. 

The woman, of Great Broughton, was stopped by police officers in the Whitehaven area. 

The amount of cannabis in her system exceeded the limit. The incident took place on Thursday, July 11. 

In a post on social media, Cumbria Police wrote: "A 29-year-old female from Great Broughton was stopped driving a silver Mercedes in Whitehaven at 2pm today by officers from the Cumbria Constabulary Nuclear Estates Team.

"Following a positive roadside drugs test she was arrested on suspicion of driving a motor vehicle when the proportion of a controlled drug, namely cannabis exceeded the specified limit."
