The Red Squirrel Survival Trust (RSST) has confirmed that His Majesty King Charles III will remain its patron, a role he began in 2009.
The north and west of Cumbria is home to small populations of red squirrels.
The King's passion for the animal has been reflected by the depiction of a squirrel on the new King Charles 2p coin.
His ongoing support of the RSST helps highlight the work of the trust and its volunteers.
Lord Kinnoull, chairman of the trustees at RSST, said: "We are thrilled and delighted that His Royal Highness is continuing his support as Patron of our charity.
"The enormous benefits of this cannot be over emphasised."
The trust aims to protect and help the UK's red squirrel population grow.
