A BED and breakfast near Egremont could be changed to domestic use if the plans are approved by Cumberland Council.
The planning application is for a site at Oxenriggs Farm in Haile and, according to the application form, the house build has been completed on the original plan of the existing bed and breakfast.
The applicant states: "I no longer require bed and breakfast and my family now live with me. The change of use would be from a bed and breakfast to a family home."
According to the form the property is a four-bedroom semi-detached house and a new or altered vehicle access is proposed to or from the public highway which is subject to a separate planning application.
It adds that an existing area would be used for waste and recycling and it is proposed that the walls would be made from bricks and it would have a slate roof.
In addition, the windows would be white plastic triple glazed units and the doors would be composite black and white plastic units.
According to a biodiversity statement there would be little impact on the on-site habitat. It states: "It is considered that this planning application is within the scope of the minimise exemption."
The main reasons are:
This is predominantly a change of use development where there is no impact on on-site habitat;
There is no net increase in the footprint of the building and effectively translates to being 25 square metres below the threshold of minor development requiring an assessment.
The application is currently being considered by planning officers at the council.
