RESCUE teams were called to a mountain biker who was expected to have broken their ankle whilst pushing their bike through a muddy patch of bog in the Lakes.
Cockermouth Mountain Rescue Team were called to Mosedale in Loweswater on Saturday, July 13 at 3pm following reports of a mountain biker who had injured their ankle whilst pushing their bike through a muddy patch of bog.
The team carried the biker for half a mile before taking them to meet an ambulance at Kirkgate Farm.
A statement on social media from Cockermouth MRT said: "The team was called by a group of mountain bikers, one of whom had turned, and potentially broken, their ankle (whilst pushing the bike through a boggy patch) on the track below Melbreak, and was unable to continue.
"We administered pain relief, splinted the leg, and carried them half a mile to our Land rovers, before driving them out along the track to meet up with an ambulance at Kirkgate Farm."
