A folk singer will bring music to a Cumbrian theatre later this year.
Yorkshireman Jack Rutter will be singing and playing his guitar and bouzouki at Wigton’s John Peel Theatre on October 12, performing masterful arrangements of traditional songs and contemporary covers in a concert not to be missed.
Following on from his critically acclaimed second album Gold of Scar and Shale - 2022 saw the release of a brand new EP, with autumn 2023 bringing the successor to Gold of Scar and Shale in the form of a new album of traditional songs.
Folk Radio UK said Rutter is ‘among Britain’s finest traditional singers’, while The Independent said he is ‘an outstanding performer’.
