Cumbrian Superbikes team Hager PBM Ducati are heading to Brands Hatch in good spirits for different reasons.
Star rider Glenn Irwin is top of the title rankings after an impressive win last time out.
And the team’s owner Jordan Bird has also given a positive update on her health after being taken to hospital before the previous race.
She said she is recovering well after surgery.
The good news comes as Irwin prepares for round six of the Bennetts British Superbike Championship this weekend.
Irwin claimed a double victory at Snetterton to open a four-point lead in the championship over rival Tommy Bridewell.
The Carrickfergus rider said: “As I always do, I’m looking forward to going to Brands Hatch and hoping we can get some more wins under our belt.
“I have a great feeling with the bike and I’m feeling good in myself so hopefully we can carry that energy forward from the previous round.
“I’m grateful to the whole team for what they are giving me and there’s a great buzz within the team.
“We need to continue working on our package as we still need to improve in a couple of areas and I need to keep adapting to various factors also, as we have different strengths and weaknesses compared to last year.
“Brands Hatch is one of most iconic racetracks in the world and there’s always a great crowd so let’s go and put on a show again.”
Jordan Bird is joint owner of the Langwathby-based team along with brother Frank, following the death of their father Paul Bird last September.
She said: “After a double win and a solid fifth in the wet at Snetterton we’re really pleased to have the next couple of rounds close together, starting with Brands Hatch this weekend.
“Brands has always been a successful hunting ground for PBM and we are all looking forward to continuing our hard work and to add to our six BSB wins so far this year.
“Thank you to all our partners and supporters as always, let’s look forward to another great weekend's racing. Plus the weather is looking great so after a couple of wet meetings, let’s keep our fingers crossed!
“Also, I’d like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for the well wishes after my surgery last week, I’m recovering well and looking forward to the weekend.”
