A Gladiator-style event will feature representatives of a Cumbrian town’s netball and football teams later this month.
The family fun day, themed after the popular TV game show Gladiators, will happen on July 20 at the Fibrus Community Stadium in Workington, organised by local gym X-treme Fitness which thanked sponsors Lloyd Motor Group, Stobbarts Ltd, Cloud Competitions, Flawed Bounty Competitions, and JS Design.
Seven Gladiator contenders will battle and then run an inflatable obstacle race for a chance to win a £1000 sponsorship.
Emma Donoghue will represent Workington Town Netball, and Naomi Foster will represent Workington Town Women FC.
All proceeds from the event will go to mental health charity Andy’s Man Club Workington and Workington Town RLFC.
Tickets cost £5 for adults if bought online, or £8 on the day, with children coming free with a paying adult.
There will also be activities for children including a helter-skelter, toddler play park, a 100ft assault course, and more.
