CUMBRIA Police are continuing to tackle speeding across the county.

Officers regularly monitor Cumbria's roads to prevent drivers from going over the speed limit.

An officer was in the Carlisle area this week with a mobile speed gun to ensure that drivers were going within the limit.

Cumbria Police said on social media that speeding is one of the main concerns residents approach law enforcement about.

In a post on social media, Cumbria Police wrote: "When we ask our rural communities West of Carlisle what concerns them, they say - speeding through our villages.

"PCSO Kirkpatrick was out in Great Orton with the speed gun during today's home time commute, and there will be letters coming through some doors."
