Analysis has revealed the cheapest and most expensive streets in Carlisle.

Alfred Street North, Etterby Scaur and Devonshire Terrace have some of the highest-valued homes across the city, whilst some of the cheapest residential streets in Carlisle include Scaleby Close, Caldew Close and Knowefield Close.

Professional fast sales company Property Solvers tracked average sold price data from HM Land Registry since 2019 to see where the highest and lowest-priced homes are located across the Carlisle postcodes.

On Alfred Street North (CA1), four properties sold for an average of £490,000, while in Etterby Scaur (CA3), five properties sold for an average of £449,900. Also, Devonshire Terrace (CA3) saw four properties sell for an average of £426,250.

Some of the cheapest streets include Scaleby Close - where 10 properties sold for an average of £47,945), Caldew Close - where seven properties sold for an average of £49,614) and Knowefield Close - where five properties sold for an average of £50,500.

Commenting on the data, Property Solvers co-founder Ruban Selvanayagam said: “To keep the data less skewed, we only ranked the streets that had over three sales.” 

“It’s therefore worth noting that, in recent years, a property on Etterby Scaur sold for £765,000 and, at the other end of the market, there were properties that sold for £35,000 and under on Dale End Road, Riverside Way and Central Avenue.”
