A Carlisle secondary school has celebrated the successes of its students at a special cathedral service.

Trinity School, located on Carlisle's Strand Road, celebrated the successes of its year nine students at Carlisle Cathedral and marked the end of the term.

Canon Michael Manley welcomed students, staff, and parents to the event which also featured a musical interlude which was provided by year nine pupil Daisy who played ‘Valse Bohémienne’ on the saxophone.

At the event, awards for subject, courageous advocacy, sport, music, drama, and special library commendation were given out.

In addition, the headteacher’s award went to year nine student Hannah, and a 'best governor' Award went to Mr Armstrong who is leaving the school after 40 years.

After the event, a spokesperson for Trinity School, said: "42 awards were handed out to Year nine students at Carlisle Cathedral to mark the end of term at Trinity school.

"Canon Michael Manley welcomed students, staff, and parents.

"Subject, Courageous Advocacy and Trinity School Awards for Sporting, Musical, and Drama commitment, plus a Library award.

"The Headteacher’s award went to Hannah and a special award went to Mr Armstrong who is stepping down after 40 years."
