A woman was taken to hospital after injuring her knee on a fell in the Lake District last night (July 17).

A family of three walkers were descending Ruddy Gill when one of them injured her knee.

Keswick team attended, provided pain relief and splinted the knee. Keswick assisted by Penrith MRT stretchered the casualty down from her location high up in Ruddy Gill. After examination of the injury by the Penrith team doctor she was transported to hospital by her son for further treatment. 

Twelve Keswick team members and 10 Penrith team members were called out at 7.20pm on Wednesday night, with the rescue taking four hours and 10 minutes to complete.
