An creative horticultural and environmental competition is being organised by a town council in Cumbria.

New for this year, ‘Wonderful Workington’, organised by Workington Town Council, challenges residents to get creative in their gardens, allotments, and community areas.

There are several categories, including allotment plots, bug hotels, best scarecrow, unusual planter creations, and vegetable patches.

Once one’s entry is picture ready, they’re asked to submit it online at their website, which is accessible by clicking here.

There are also paper entry forms available from the council offices on Princess Street.

The competition is open to all residents, businesses, and schools within the parish of Workington, and the closing date is July 26 this year.
