CARLISLE Cathedral is encouraging members of the public to take part in a summer challenge.
The Church Door Challenge asks people to submit pictures of entranceways accompanied by details about a place of worship.
The Church of England has organised this event and is inviting people to take part.
In a post on social media, Carlisle Cathedral wrote: "Step one: Take a photo – or even short video – of your church door/entrance. Perhaps it has an interesting design or a fascinating bit of history – you could also share a photo of an interior door.
"Step two: Upload your photo or video to your social media platform of choice.
"Step three: Accompany your photo or video with the name and location of the church.
"Step four: Before posting your photo or video – use the hashtag #ChurchDoorChallenge so all the entries are visible."
