The Caledonian Sleeper has launched a photography contest, encouraging passengers to capture scenic views from their journey.

Running until October 31st and including stops like Carlisle, the contest is looking for inspiring images of UK landscapes, engaged in a trip or activities the Caledonian Sleeper has taken participants to.

Derek Thompson, head of retail & pricing at Caledonian Sleeper, said: "We often take for granted just how spectacular the landscape is in the UK, and rail travel is one of the best ways to discover it.

"I’m excited to see what other photography enthusiasts capture along the route."

The winner will be rewarded with a return journey on the Caledonian Sleeper, a £500 Amazon voucher for photography equipment, and a virtual one-to-one session with photographer Tony Marsh.

Their photo will also be displayed in the Euston Guest Lounge.

Runners-up will receive Amazon vouchers.

Competitors can submit their entries on their website.

Kathryn Darbandi, managing director of Caledonian Sleeper, said:

"From shots of Caledonian Sleeper in scenic local stations to snaps of incredible or quirky views from the train itself, we’re looking for the most creative and inspiring images that truly showcases the relationship between Caledonian Sleeper and the iconic scenery we pass through each morning and evening."
