A PATIENT was airlifted to hospital following an incident on the M6 yesterday morning (July, 20). 

The Great North Air Ambulance Service's (GNAAS) critical care team was dispatched to the M6 near Penrith yesterday at 7.37am.

The GNAAS team arrived on the scene with two doctors and a paramedic by car, and the same via helicopter.

After assessment and treatment, the patient was flown to hospital for further care.
