A supermarket will reopen this week after refurbishments.

Aldi, on Kingstown Road in Carlisle, will reopen to customers on Thursday, July 25, as upgrades to 'make for an all-round better shopping experience and a more sustainable store' have now been completed, a spokesperson from Aldi said.

The shop shut on July 20, and now has increased chiller space, complete with new fridge doors to reduce energy consumption, an additional room for 'Specialbuys', and redesigned health and beauty and bakery sections for a modernised look, the spokesperson said.

They added that the supermarket, which employs 33 people, will, during re-opening week, offer a range of kitchen essentials, including a frozen drinks maker for £24.99, a two-in-one sandwich and waffle maker or health grill for £16.99 and a mini chopper for £12.99.

Store manager Andrew Wells said: “The store is looking fantastic, and we are really looking forward to welcoming back some familiar faces as well as new customers and supplying our local community with the everyday amazing products we have available.”
